Re: moyes gets away with it
Current problems link back to losing Arfur and Obiang at Wigan and then further injuries, loss of belief and momentum. There is a massive issue in midfield that when we are pressed or countered results in the shipping of goals by a back line that is exposed. We have a slow and old defensive unit and we end up now having to play kouyate in midfield as there is no one else to pick unless he perhaps tries Cullen? We ran out of steam and ideas at 60 mins as we often do. Watch Kouyate “track” Barnes for the psychologically damaging first goal.

I do not think Moyes is the answer but not sure who could get much more from this squad?

You don’t think this ship is sinking Alex??

We might as well be sponsored by the white star line for the rest of the season.

Re: moyes gets away with it
I disagree he's a poor manager. I think overall he's done quite well here - he stabilised what was a sinking ship. Some of his tactical tweaks worked brilliantly - Arnautovic up front, Cresswell in a back three. We also just about coped with losing our best two players to injury in the new year. It's just fallen away badly in the last few matches.

What he hasn't done is transform a bad side into a good one. But I'm not sure that was ever possible this season.

Re: moyes gets away with it
Honestly, Claret, don't spend too much time trying to second-guess how Moyes thinks: that way, madness lies.

He is tactically inept, instinctively defensive and reticent to have his teams attack - even at home against struggling sides. He's a dinosaur who was worked out - and worked over - by even average coaches at least eight years ago. And that is why he has failed in all of his last four jobs (including this one).

I fins it almost impossible to believe that we gave him a job after relegating Sunderland. Almost. But then I remember the two-bob tin-pot fuckwits who run our club...

Re: moyes gets away with it
his tactics yesterday were so bad , Antonio LWB was terrible, people were slagging off his crossing which is not surprise when he's right footed. Surely Cresswall at LWB, Antonio at RWB Zabaleta as the 3rd CB. As for no forward at home to a team that have won once in 11 games, just amazing. Did we want to win or just not to lose?

Re: moyes gets away with it
One reason why there has been so little coverage of Moyes' failings is that everybody knows how poor he is as a manager, and everybody knew it when he got the job.

It isn't "news". He atrocious and he has been for a decade.

A two-bob appointment by a two-bob board sat in a two-bob boardroom talking about two-bob players. What could possibly have gone wrong?

No, because Hart is finished as a top level keeper and has been on a huge decline for several years now. I said on the thread about this the other day that I had no problem with Adrian being dropped, but could not see the point when the alternative was a worse option.

I had the same stance last season when Adrian was dropped for Randolph who is not a Premier League standard goalkeeper as long as I've got a hole in my arse.

The problem we have which has existed for a while is that we need to sign a better keeper to challenge Adrian. But like a lot of areas in the team, transfer windows pass and it doesn't get addressed properly. They just end up bringing in a loan (Hart) or a cheap shit option (Randolph).

Re: moyes gets away with it
Are we blaming Adrian for our team's defensive woes which are almost totally down to a negative style that concedes possession and invites pressure for 90 minutes.

He did not deserve a recall you say ?, Adrian had let in 7 goals in two games it was hardly a very wrong move to make putting Shampoo boy in goal .

Re: moyes gets away with it
Don't mind how he started but at half time we could have siezed some initiative. Play with 4 offensive players. Arnie Lw, Antonio Rw, Hernandez and Hugill up top. Play a solid and unadventurous back 4 and 2 disciplined central midfielders in front of them.

At least we have some chance of getting players forward to create some sort of thread.

And yeah it means dropping Lanzini, who has been shit and has regressed.

Re: moyes gets away with it
He broke Man Utd
He relegated Sunderland, a team who had a series of shit managers but none of them were shit enough to get them relegated
He was a disaster in Spain

And yet we appoint him.

Anyone who can destroy the worlds biggest football club in 6 months should not be let near a football club. He ought to be banned by the FA for the damage he causes.

Or maybe starting with Arnautovic up front, who has played the role since Moyes arrived and is probably the biggest plus in the team over the last few months.

You love to be contrary Alex. Is it better playing a weak link like Mario instead then? 0-3 suggests not. Having said that I would never have bought Chicharito in the first place and got roundly critized as he guaranteed goals.

The only other alternative is to start with Hugill but I wonder why Moyes hasn't even brought him on as a sub recently? Perhaps he really is that shit and another Sullivan pig in a poke...?

"Did Hart deserve a recall? No"

Plenty of cunts on here said otherwise in the days leading up to the game.

The thing is there are plenty of no nothing shouty gobby cunts on here who spout of absolute shit.... the worrying thing is a so called knowledgeable experienced football manager would make that type of call... Hart is shot and it's well known

He’s got to play Adrian again in a few games time anyway so is he going to change keepers again after that?

Terrible management from the worst manager in the league.

Re: moyes gets away with it
>>> I don't understand why he wouldn't go with Antonio RW, Chicharito central and Arnie LW.

Because Chicarito has absolutely no presence, so you're guaranteed to not make the ball stick in the final third. Arnautovic was also dreadful on the wing earlier in the season. Also playing a forward three leaves the rest of the team susceptible to the same defensive issues we've suffered up to this point. We cannot frontload the forward line like that - it just isn't working.

Re: moyes gets away with it
My view was that I could understand that Moyes might turn to Hart after criticising Adrian but that I had no confidence that Hart would be any improvement
Personally I’d stick with Adrian. He might be just as mediocre but I think he at least gives a shit about our predicament

Willtell 5:14 Sun Mar 11

I don't understand why he wouldn't go with Antonio RW, Chicharito central and Arnie LW.

Fuck Mario - he's not so super - in fact far too weak for PL. I dare say another choice by Sullivan because he was bargain basement loan that appeases fans and costs little.

Moyes will know this so why mess up what looks a terrific front three for someone that couldn't live up to his price in Italy?

It's all typical of a club in a mess!

Providing our CBs are fit, Rice should be starting in s Def Mid role sitting in front of a back 4.
